  1. Track Record - How many weddings have they planned?
  2. Does your planner have relations with any suppliers in your area?
  3. Option / Packages they offer?
  4. What is the payment policy?
  5. What is the cancellation policy?
  6. Is there an absolute minimum budget required to have services?
  7. What process do they have in place to determine your needs?
  8. Does the planner have a contingency plan if they become unavailable on your wedding day?
  9. Do they accept referral fees/commissions? If so, do not work with this planner.
  10. Ask for at least five bridal and vendor referrals and a copy of the planner’s contract.
Cost

You should be offered the choice between full-scale planning and same-day wedding co-ordination. Fees can vary widely, so shop around for a good planner.
