Top 10 questions to ask your wedding planner:
- Track Record - How many weddings have they planned?
- Does your planner have relations with any suppliers in your area?
- Option / Packages they offer?
- What is the payment policy?
- What is the cancellation policy?
- Is there an absolute minimum budget required to have services?
- What process do they have in place to determine your needs?
- Does the planner have a contingency plan if they become unavailable on your wedding day?
- Do they accept referral fees/commissions? If so, do not work with this planner.
- Ask for at least five bridal and vendor referrals and a copy of the planner’s contract.
You should be offered the choice between full-scale planning and same-day wedding co-ordination. Fees can vary widely, so shop around for a good planner. Payment options can vary and may include flat fee packages, hourly rate or a percentage of the total cost of the event (usually anywhere from 10-20 percent). Most planners will allow you to choose from different services in order to create a service to meet your specific needs, according to your budget.
